Title: The Sequencing Facility at Landspítali University Hospital and The University of Iceland

Speaker: Dr. Eiríkur Briem, Head of Department, Dept. of Genetics and Molecular, Landspítali National Hospital.

Abstract: The Sequencing Facility at Landspítali University Hospital and the University of Iceland is equipped with a range of sequencing instruments that support projects of varying scales. The Biomedical Center provides access to this high-throughput facility, featuring several next-generation sequencers, including the Illumina iSeq 100, MiSeq, and NextSeq 550Dx. Additionally, the facility includes a PromethION Oxford Nanopore sequencer, which is ideal for long-read DNA and RNA sequencing, as well as DNA/RNA modification analysis. All instruments are operated by trained staff who are available to assist with the setup of sequencing runs.

In this talk, the sequencing facility will be presented, the various instruments and their throughput capabilities will be highlighted, and future plans for the facility will be discussed.
