Logi obtained a cand. mag. degree in Natural Sciences in 1973 and a cand. real. degree in Animal Physiology in 1977 from University of Oslo, Norway. Logi was a Research Associate and a part time teacher at Department of Physiology, University of Iceland 1977 - 1979 and Post Doctoral Fellow in The Psychobiology Programme at Florida State University, USA in 1979. Since 1980 he has been a faculty member at University of Iceland. Assistant professor 1980 – 1986 and associate professor 1986 – 2010 at Department of Biology, Faculty of Natural sciences and from 2011 at the Faculty of Medicine. In 1991 he was a Courtesy Faculty at Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, Oregon State University, USA.
Research: Logi has worked within following areas of research: olfaction in fishes and dogs; electrophysiological investigations of endocrine cells and ciliates; smoltification, stress and control of sexual maturation in fishes and control of appetite and metabolism in mammals.
