Title: A Zebrafish core-facility at the BioMedical Center

Abstract: Zebrafish are a powerful model system in Biology to study a wide variety of fields including genetics, development, chemical biology and diseases. The Biomedical Life Center (BMC) has recently set up a zebrafish core-facility in collaboration with Prof. Karl Ægir Karlsson at the University of Reykjavik to use zebrafish as model to study different subjects such as genetics, development, evolution, sleep and many more areas. An introduction to zebrafish in research will be given, including some examples for their use in different projects here in Iceland. The zebrafish core facility can be used by any members of BMC and the service provided will be illustrated in the talk.
