BMC Seminar, Thursday, 1st December at 12:00, Room 343, Læknagarður
Speaker: Dr. Erna Magnúsdóttir associate professor, Department of Medicine, University of Iceland.
Title: Transcription factors regulating mouse pluripotent states.
Research: Erna's research has focused on context-dependent transcriptional regulation in systems as diverse as epidermis, plasma cells as well as developing germ cells. Her group is interested in how the mammalian genome is interpreted in a context dependent manner by transcription factors, leading to different cellular states. They study mammalian transcriptional regulators and their target cis-regulatory regions. Their model systems include mouse embryonic stem cells as well as mouse and human B-cells.
